Firefighters on Saturday were trying to cool a chemical tank “literally on the edge” of exploding in Garden Grove, California, as they worked to avert a disastrous “worst-case” scenario, the incident’s commander said.

A new map revealed the potential blast radius of a chemical tank on the verge of exploding at a California aerospace facility, as more than 40,000 people have already evacuated.

Evacuation orders have been issued in portions of the cities of Garden Grove, Anaheim, Buena Park, Cypress, Stanton and Westminster.
